This beautiful piano is made of vertical cut Indian Rosewood - note that the grain in the wood runs in a vertical pattern rather than horizontal like most American instruments. A piano this size would have been primarily used on the concert state or other public venues rather than in private homes. Imagine the concerts that would have been given on this piano over the centuries! This piano is being completely restored with a historical perspective in mind, and it will have a smooth, even touch and a big, warm sound.
