History of Piano

The piano was founded on earlier technological innovations. Cristofori was himself a harpsichord maker and well acquainted with this body of knowledge.Cristofori's early instruments were made with thin clavichord strings and were much quieter than the modern piano. It is a subjective judgment of whether the sum total of all the properties of the sound is appropriate for the music. There is controversy over whether a pianist can control the "tone" of each note on the piano.
